RI–Netherlands Cooperation in Waste Management and Climate Change

MINISTER of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar receives a visit from the Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands, Cora Van Nieuwenhuizen at the Ministry of LHK’s Office, Jakarta, Monday (9/3). In the meeting, the two agreed to continue and strengthen cooperation in the fields of waste management, circular economy, and water quality, as well as climate change as stated in the memorandum of understanding (MoU). Minister Siti said that the Netherlands is a country that is quite advanced in waste and waste management, especially various circular economy innovations. The Netherlands is also one of the few EU member states that have stopped exporting plastic waste. “We really appreciate this, because our national policy is not to import plastic waste,” said Minister Siti.
